Matt is a principal in Sierra-West Capital, which provides funding for short term real estate projects. To date SWC has funded over 590 transactions and 125 million in volume. Matt got his start in real estate in 2004 by actively buying and selling his own properties and has purchased and re-sold over 400 single family homes since by utilizing value add strategies (typically known as “fix n flip”). Matt received a Masters of Real Estate Development (MRED) from the University of Utah in 2015, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance (Real Estate emphasis) from the University of Utah in 2001. Matt has been a member of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors since 2001 as a sales agent and since 2007 has held a Broker’s license. MOST importantly, Matt is married to the most awesome human ever – Bree Strong and has 3 equally as cool kids; Birkley, Peyton and Wilder.

Dominick Attended his first Real Estate training in July 2003 and 8 months later, using a Lease Option strategy he purchased his first Single Family Residence with $10 down and resold it on a Lease Option. Over the course of 14 years he has Bought and Sold over 30 properties with no money down strategies. He has performed short sales on properties and in one case he negotiated a hundred and twenty-thousand-dollar lien down to twenty-five thousand accepted settlement. He has purchased property using various purchase methods such as a hard money, notes and deed of trust, wraps, Land Trust, Subject to and Lease Option. He has wholesaled properties to multiple Real Estate Investors within in the last 16 months utilizing some other methods addressed above.

He is currently the Vice President of the Salt Lake Real Estate Investors Association. He has found a lot of value with giving back to those members of local REIA’s who want to enhance their knowledge quicker. He works with MJA Real Consulting on their acquisitions team. His responsibilities include finding, negotiating, consulting and assisting investors to build their portfolio. In addition to loving real estate investing and the lifestyle it can provide. He is a happy husband, proud family of 2 children and loves soccer… He has a man crush for Cristiano Ronaldo!

Sterling jumped into real estate investing in 2019 when he took the plunge and bought his first fixer upper. Over the last 3 years he has flipped dozens of homes across the Salt Lake Valley and helped many others get started as well. Sterling has been a on a journey to help as many people as possible learn the power of real estate investing and how it can changer their lives. Sterling has been a Realtor for 5 years and now works with Lifestyle Realty. His main focus is working with clients on portfolio management and helping them grow and strategize. 

Sterling is the founder of the Young and Hungry project where they aim to help young entrepreneurs learn the business and grow. He was working in Hospital Administration for 5 years prior to jumping into real estate full time. He has been married for 8 years and has two beautiful children ages 4 and 8 months.

  • Corey Dutton is a real estate lender and has been a member of the SLREIA since 2010. Mrs. Dutton is also the founder of a real estate lending company, Private Money Utah, and she has been lending on both residential and commercial properties in the Western United States since 2008. Corey obtained her MBA from Thunderbird Graduate School of International Business in 2005 with a specialty in Global Business Management. She is also the President of a local trails foundation that builds recreational trails in Summit County, Utah. Her hobbies include snowboarding and mountain biking.

Dave along with his wife Patti are a full time real estate investing team primarily focused in Utah and Salt Lake County owning a few additional properties in the Midwest. In addition to residential, they have experience in commercial property and AirBNB. Have owned rental properties since 1990 and has been the investing partner of rehabs since 2008. Dave left the corporate world in 2012 as a marketing and engineering professional where he traveled throughout US, Europe and Asia. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from BYU and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Like many others, Rich Dad Poor Dad inspired me. The book Traction from Gino Wickman has given me an incredible road map for running a successful business. I have also gained a great appreciation for the free information available with podcast such as Bigger Pockets, Wholesaler Inc. To be successful I found it is also very important to investing into your business through coaching and attending paid high quality seminars. It is important to surround yourself with successful people. SLREIA has greatly helped me in my development and am happy to be part of the SLREIA family.
