When he was in his early 20’s, John Jonkman came to the USA with $300 in his pocket and a large student loan to pay off. Five years later he came across the book, “How You Can Become Financially Independent by Investing in Real Estate”, by Albert Lowry. After studying this book from cover to cover, John set out to do just that. Now, 50+ years later, he will share with you the highlights of his journey to financial freedom, the unexpected twists and turns that this journey took, and how he adjusted his investing strategy based on economic conditions and where he himself was in life at each phase. This presentation will be of interest to those who want to build or expand their own real estate investment portfolios. Based on his lifetime of experience in the business, John will be happy to answer any questions you might have related to residential rentals.
